Sex and The City Event at Evangeline Rose Bridal

Head down to Evangeline Rose Bridal boutique in Godalming on Sunday 20th June from 12-4pm and be among the first to see the new Downtown collection designed by Beverly Lister. To tie in with the launch of the new Sex and the City 2 movie, they are inviting stylish brides-to-be and their girlfriends to an afternoon of sassy bridal styling, delicious cupcakes courtesy of My Cupcake Kitchen (www.mycupcakekitchen.co.uk)and Cosmopolitan cocktails.

To help bring out the ‘inner Carrie’ in you, wedding hair stylist Severin Hubert from the Hepburn Collection (www.hepburncollection.com) will be on hand to demonstrate chic hairstyles to complement the gowns. Appealing to the fashion-savvy uptown bride, the Downtown collection features sleek and sexy shapes in a pretty range of colours from ivory and oyster to pink, duck egg and pistachio.

Ranging from £750 to £2000, the made-to-measure gowns are all handmade in England using Duchesse satins and feature several sophisticated short dresses, ideal for summer weddings. All gown orders placed before 30th June 2010 will receive a complimentary pair of bridal shoes from the Evangeline Rose Bridal collection. Who needs another excuse for a day out with the girls? Corinne Hair Band

Our gorgeous Corinne Hair Band was featured in Perfect Wedding magazine this month. Beautifully vintage with a moderin twist, it is meant to be worn across the head like an alice band - tilt it slightly forward for a more tiara style if wearing with an up do.

Exciting New Bridal Show to Debut in November

A new and exciting Bridal show will debut this year in November at Excel in Docklands, London. Modern Bride - The Contemporary Wedding Show will be running between the 5-7 November 2010 and promises to be a breath of fresh air in the Wedding show calendar. Describing itself as a "hot new event for more affordably fashionable weddings: it gives today's modern brides exactly what they're looking for - great ideas, quality for money and contemporary style". Run by the same people who created the Designer Wedding Show, it promises to be a fun and chic event.

What I Get Up To...

Hello,

My name is Gail and I'm the designer behind Glass Oyster. I design and hand make "Unique Treats" - bridal headdresses. Each design is a total one off and usually requires me sewing for hours and hours - sometimes dropping off in front of the TV! I use a mixture of tiny vintage and modern beads, lace, organza or other fabric remnants and re-worked pieces of jewellery in my designs.

I love florals so you will see a lot of those in my work. I would say my style is romantic with a hint of vintage and a pinch of glamour.

I'm also a lover of all things hand made and hand crafted so I tend to share a lot about great designers I come across.

I'm very lucky to live in a beautiful part of Hampshire in the UK - slap bang in the middle of the South Downs National Park. A Scot originally, I share my home with my husband, two children, one cat and two hamsters called "Teddy" and "Laser".
